I am inspired by the poetics inherent in fabrication. I use the metrical qualities of fractures, staining, repetition, and balance—either analytically measured or poetically read—to build industrial poetic prose through objects.
These precisely engineer steel objects are built to confront the viewer’s position, both metaphorically and physically. I use industrial processes including machining and welding to construct modular objects revealing their method of assembly. The scientific and mechanical principles that pertain to structure are fundamental to the development of my work.
